테이블 웨어와 오브제, 두 가지 공예적 시선으로 전개해 나가고 있다.
Artist Lee Sang-ho draws inspiration from Korea’s ancient relics them through two craft perspectives
: tableware and objects.
OBJECT
한국의 고대 유물과 분청사기의 추상성에서 영감을 받아 ‘코리아 판타지(Korea fantasy)’라는 개념을 만들었 다. 고대 유물에서 모티브를 얻어 흙을 쌓아 올리며 비정형의 형태로 새롭게 재구성하였고, 도자기 안에 있는 불 (火), 흙(土), 물(水), 바람(風)의 4가지의 요소 중 ‘물’의 이미지를 분청사기의 추상성으로 표현하여 동시대의 새로운 도자기를 표현하고 있다.
The artist created the concept of ‘Korea fantasy’, inspired by Korea’s ancient relics and the abstractness of Buncheong ware. Taking a motif from ancient relics, the clay was piled up and reconstructed in an irregular form, and the image of ‘water’ is one of the four elements of fire, earth, water, and wind in the ceramic. is expressed through the abstractness of Buncheong ware, expressing new contemporary ceramics.

조선시대 백자기법 중 하나인 ‘면치기 기법’이라는 전통적 제작방식의 재해석에서 시작한 피스 시리즈는 흙의 면을 깎아내면서 만들어지는 비정형의 면에서 발견한 흙의 원초적이면서도 순수한 형태를 공예와 디자인의 경계에서 수차례의 수정을 거쳐 아름다운 형태로 만들어진 시리즈입니다.
This work reflects modern architectural spaces and lifestyles through a reinterpretation of the slab- building technique used to create white porcelain in the Joseon period (1392-1910).
The name Pieces Series was inspired by the irregular and broken pieces of clay slabs produced during its creation process.
It can be used as tableware and a decorative item that goes well with other accoutrements.
